Manuel passed away peacefully in his home the morning of March 14, 2024. He was born in Ponta Garça, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1972.
Manuel was a hard-working man who loved god, his family, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Rita, son Emanuel (Ana), son Antonio, daughter Anita (Henrique), grandchildren Mariana, Julio, Delgado and Tiago.
Funeral service will be held on March 20, 2024 at 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria BC.
Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.

  4. A wonderful neighbour who will be greatly missed in the neighbourhood. He was an incredible gardener and I loved learning tips and tricks from him.
    We will miss seeing his face pop over the fence, and his laugh.

  6. Our heart and prayers go out to all the family over this huge loss. Manuel was such a happy and friendly man. I will have fond memories of him at Beckwith Park as we enjoyed and watched our grandkids play together. Given his strong faith in the good Lord he is truly in a better place now. No more pain or suffering. He leaves behind an unforgetable legacy and will live on through his family. Our deepest condolences

  7. Sincere condolences to Rita, Anita, Tony, Emanuel and family on the loss of Manuel. Mr. Carreiro was always smiling and sent me home with grapes from the back yard many times. A life well lived, and a man who will be missed by many, but always close in the heart.
