March 27, 1972 – November 6, 2012

Allison was suddenly and tragically drawn from our sight, but not from our hearts. We still feel her presence just around the corner. Missing her desperately are beloved husband, David; treasured children, Olivia and Max; parents, Catherine and Randy Panter; brother, Andrew and Kyla; grandmother, Ruth Panter; fond aunts, uncles, cousins, many Lessard connections from the east, and many close friends, especially Hanna and Jen. Her gift for loving sustained us all. Her artistry, singing and storytelling inspired us.

Family and friends are gathering to share memories at Allison’s favorite place, The Darwinian Gardens at Becher Bay on Saturday, November 17, 2012 (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm). Candles will be lit at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Metchosin WildArc Rescue or the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

We were shocked to hear of Allisons death. We did not know her well, but every time she came in the store she would tell me what she was up to: raising ducks, worrying about her house, making jewelry, her grandmothers passing.

Our brief encounters were always full.

Our hearts go out to Olivia and Max and David: she was creative, lovely and radiant, and we will miss her coming though the door to share her day with us.

Allison radiated such beauty and warmth. She was so kind, caring and accepting. She had a positive outlook on life and it was always clear what really mattered most to her : her prescious children, husband and family. She will be missed.

Allison was a shining light in my childhood and she will always be someone I look up to, for her kindness, huge heart and beautiful soul. I was so saddened to hear of her passing and truly wish I could be there this afternoon to share some of the many happy memories I have of her. Hugs to Catherine and Randy and the rest of the family.

    Randy and Catherine,
We have just read Margaret’s obituary and can only assume that she is your daughter. Our heart goes out to you, as losing one’s child is a loss no parent wants to go through.
    Our deepest sympathies.

Allison, your memory will live on in our hearts.

  • Alicia

The news of this terrible and so patently unfair tragedy came as a shock. I cannot properly express my sympathies, as I can’t find the words to capture what it means to have Allison out of our physical world. Allison, I love you and cherish the hugs and smiles and the support you offered me. My heart breaks to think how much your presence will be missed by your sweet babies who you would move mountains for. I am comforted though by the fact that you cherished them and supported them to a level that few children have the opportunity to experience. They are emotionally fortified to carry on. Though I sincerely wish that they didn’t have to.

I will always remember Allison in English class at Oak Bay. She had such a depth of understanding of literature that was wise beyond her years. She was always kind and light-hearted and I am so sorry for her passing. Sending love and light to her beloved family in this most difficult time…

Besides that bathroom floor, I remember how I’d look over at Allison in the middle of class and she’d be hiding a book between her lap and her desk, reading away (totally oblivious to whatever we were actually supposed to be learning).

I’m so sad to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
