My sincerest best wishes to all Crawford and related family members……….Peggy was one of my most wonderful customers..!!!. She was loyal in her repeated calls to me when her place needed a lift…….and, Indeed….was one of the nicest ‘ol girls’ I met. She reminded me 100 per cent of my mom…….brash…..downright over the top……and no-nonsense. Peggy will always remain close to my heart…..after all……we do tend to meet folks…..good and bad…..and…honestly…..Peggy qualified as very very good. I will miss her..(even though my last contact with her was in the early ’90’s. We had a lot of great chats……and soooooo sorry for your loss. I would not have known about her passing, except for my similar situation. My mom went Dec. 27….and I was just checking this site. What can I say…..I had a once in a lifetime chance meeting of a fun friend with Peggy. I swear she and Julia Child were clones, except for the voice…….I’m guessing she probably loved to cook…….
Anyways……I hope your grieving is brief….your memories are wonderful……and your days ahead are full of the spirit that Peggy engendered……fun and goodwill.
All the best from the Korning family.

We miss Peggy very much. She was a cornerstone of our neighbourhood, a lively, fun and friendly voice. We have so many memories of her during our 7 years as her neighbours. When we dug up our drains (by hand) in our first year, she baked us cookies! Every year we provided holly for her Christmas and she used to love watching us fix up our house, asking us, “Do you have a permit for that?” She made us laugh and invited us every year over to celebrate the New Year. Our neighbourhood is much poorer for her passing–as we no longer can here her yell out, “Dollar!! Come HERE!!” or see her smiling face and words of encouragement. We hope the family finds similar joy in such memories of this remarkable person.
