It is with great sadness the family of Margaret (Peggy) Coates announces her peaceful passing after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Peggy was born on November 16, 1939, in Calgary, AB, and passed away on September 22, 2021 in Victoria, BC.

Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband of 24 years, Dave, in 2017. She is survived by her children, Debbie, Ken (Paula), Michelle (Terry) and Leanne (Jason); grandchildren, Christopher, Alicia (Alex), Alex (Kayla), Brianne and Khloe; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Sullivan and Aiden and her siblings Joan, Don and Susan.

Peggy shared many adventures over the years with Dave and was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed working on needlepoint, walking the waterfront and spending time with her family. If you ever went to visit with Peggy, you always knew she would allow you to put a piece or two into the newest puzzle she was working on.

Peggy was a gentle and caring person, who had kind words for everyone. She will be forever loved and forever remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank all the staff at The Heights at Mount View for the wonderful care they provided to Peggy over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of BC.  No Service by request.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Debbie, Ken and Family. Please accept our condolences for the loss or your Mother. Joe and I only found out about your Mother’s passing on Saturday evening. We have known Peggy for over 50 years. She was such awonderful person. I enjoyed our chats whenever David and Peggy would come to Music in Memorial Park on Tuesday evenings in the Summer, or when we would run into them at the Shopping Centre, or Esquimalt Legion. She never complained about her lot in life she was always positive, Dave was a wonderful gift to her and so very attentive to her, it was devastating loss when he passed. They are now together, Dancing together. I am sorry I never did get to see her through Covid19 but she was always in my thoughts.
