She is also survived by her sister, Kay Chapman of Vancouver; brother-in-law, Eric Emmerson of Calgary, as well as nieces and nephews.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and sister, she nurtured her family with unconditional love and integrity. She was always kind, generous and non-judgmental. Loved and respected by all who knew her. She shared many life long friendships, especially her wonderful friends in her bridge club. Some of them together over 60 years.
Mom approached her death from cancer the same way she lived her life, with faith, dignity, courage, laughter and surrounded by love.

Hello to the family, especially to Sharon,

I have lots of memories of Mr. & Mrs. Emmerson as they were longtime and close friends of my parents Joe and Winnie Flood. I believe we all met up at many different postings and at the minimum there were yearly Christmas cards. Mom played bridge with your mom and likely they were in Jill Tars together.

Mrs. Emmerson and the rest of the bridge club visited my mom in hospital the day before she died and she was thrilled that they had cared enough to do it.

I had not seen you mom since your Dad’s funeral but we did talk a few times on the phone. I know she was greatly relieved that you were back in Victoria-it made a great difference in her life.

It is sad to lose your Mom and may memories of the love you shared help you in this time of sorrow and all the years to come.

    Kathleen (Flood) Martin
