Passed away peacefully at home January 10, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.  Born on March 12, 1940 in Chichester, Sussex, England.  Predeceased by her husband Norman and grandson Matthew, she is survived by her children Bob (Paula), Caroline (Niven) and Greg (Catherine), 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many relatives in England. Mom and Dad came to Canada from England in 1963 to pursue a better life for themselves and their children.  Mom lived a full and active life, pursuing many different interests including learning karate, how to fly a plane, traveling with Dad in their RV, boating for many years and of course spending many hours in her beloved beautiful garden. She also was the first female terminal supervisor at the BC Ferries and was very proud of her 35 years working there. Mom had many dear friends who she treasured very much. A very special thank you to Dr. Laura Ritonja for her kind and compassionate care for mom in the last few months of her life. Mom owned and loved many rescue dogs over the years and was very involved in rescue dog groups. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Broken Promises Rescue, 2834 Sooke Road, Victoria, BC, V9B 4J9.

Margaret and Norman were laid to rest during a private service in the Woodlands at Royal Oak Burial Park.

I’m hoping memories give your family comfort.
Margaret was my neighbor and co-worker. Our times shared talking on daily doggy walks. My puppy adored her.
She was determined, had opinions, humor and it made her interesting in conversation.
She shared her knowledge, experience and her time generously with many.
Their home has a wonderful garden, we loved and shared plants.
I will think of her each Spring as her gift of Snowdrops come up in my garden and I will miss her.

My sincere condolences. I knew Margaret years ago when I lived next door to her. She was a lovely human being and also so much fun. Susan Hughes
