It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Maria Morais, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born on the Island of Santa Maria, Acores, Portugal. She is survived by her four children: Antonio (Laura), Maria (Agostinho), Lidia (Duarte), Jose (Margaret). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Emilia and Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family was everything to her. She devoted her life to caring for those she loved, and her warmth and strength shaped the lives of everyone around her. Our mother will be deeply missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
Service will take place on Wednesday March 4, 2026 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, BC. There will also be a public viewing before the service from 9:00-10:00am(optional).

Hanif Khedri Avo was one of the most loving and caring people I ever met. From a young age I would come to the Morais family house at unannounced times of the day. Sometimes no one would be home except Avo. I knew I could always come knock on her door and she welcome me in with open arms and a huge smile. She treated me like family and I’ve always had the utmost respect for her and the family she was able to raise around her. My condolences go out to the entire Morais family.
