Marian passed away on Sunday evening, peacefully and surrounded by love and family, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by Alex, her husband of 61 years and is survived by her children Diane, David (Nina), Kathy (Murray), Allan, Joe (Tracy); her grandchildren Karoline (Scott), Veronique (Chris), Jared, Montana (Anton), Marcus and Jordyn; her brother Fred and many nieces and nephews.
Mom had a great sense of humour, loved playing the slots, going south for the winter and had a legion of friends. She was a devoted mother and was adored by her grandchildren. She loved to entertain and cook big family dinners which were always full of fun and laughter. Mom was not only the heart of the family but also of the neighbourhood where she and dad lived for 60 years. Many happy hours were spent on the front porch visiting with everyone who passed by.
We would like to express our profound gratitude to her family physician for many years, Dr. MacNaughton, Dr. Fenton and the staff of the Cancer Agency and especially all the angels (disguised as nurses) and Dr.’s Gail and Noy of Hospice for the kindness, compassion and love shown to mom and all the family during her time with them. We will be forever grateful for the extraordinary care she received.
We love you mom and will miss you so much! May you rest in peace when you’re not being waltzed around Heaven by dad.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 16 at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Parish, 2060 Haultain Street. Reception to follow.
Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, donations may be made to Victoria Hospice.

Alan & Kathy Little Dear Piercys
Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom, Marian. It seems especially tough that her death was so soon after your Dads’s.
We always enjoyed your Mom and Dad at family gatherings where good humour dominated.
We will miss them and be thinking of you.

Warren and Marilyn Little To the Piercy Family, we offer our sincere condolences. We always enjoyed our visits with both Marian and Alex. They were an active couple, with many friends, and we were pleased to be counted among them. Marian had a lively wit, great sense of humour, and a big heart. She carried on with strength when the going wasn’t easy, and maintained a strong will throughout. She will be greatly missed.

Ron & Marg Friesen Both my Husband and Myself will miss her dearly. Although we didn’t see her much, since the Reno Busses’ quit going, we spoke on the phone or e-mailed periodically. We had so much fun with Dad (the “old fart”) and Mom on the trips to Reno and do so miss those trips as did she.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. She spoke of you all often and you are right – she’ll be waltzing around Heaven by her sole mate
More genuine and wonderful people would be hard to find.
Condolences to the family
