I’m afraid I did not know Tilly very well, but met her and John in the summer of 1970 when I visited from the Canadian icebreaker “Hudson” where her stepson Peter was Third Mate. Peter was
a great friend of mine and took me to meet his family and sail aboard their boat. Tragically Peter was killed not long after when his ship sank. I have been writing a history of that voyage
and am seeking more information about Peter and his history. If any of the surviving relatives can help, I would be most grateful,

    Dear Keith and Lisa,
Our condolences on your mother’s passing. We spent many happy times with both your parents. In later years, Tilly was always so welcoming and such good company when we could get out to Deep Cove to visit. She was a lovely lady and will be missed by many whose lives she touched.
    Sincerely,
    Susan Burke and family.

    Dear Keith, Lisa and families,
With deep sadness for your loss of your mum. Aunty Tilly was such a lovely lady. Her beautiful smile was a reflection of the kind of person she was. She always got me with those scary stories that she told. She was a great story teller. We were always on pins and needles. I always enjoyed watching her eat a meal that was made by my mum. Tilly was the only one that ate that hot curry with such conviction and passion. Tilly, I hope that you and Mrs. Tommy meet up to have a great time. Keith and Lisa, at this time of sadness please know that the Quay family care very much about you.
