It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved wife, mother and grandma. Marion passed away peacefully on November 3, 2011 after a brief and devastating illness which took her life much too early.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; brother Ken (Carole); children Steven (Shawna), Nancy (Todd) and Cathy (Mario) and grandchildren Katrina, Ariana, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Danielle, Francesca and Dominic.

Marion was born in London, England on February 28, 1939 and moved to Canada in 1960.

Marion was a very vibrant, energetic and positive person. She had a way of making others feel good and happy, even up to her last days. She lived for her family and was at her happiest when sharing time with them.

“She blessed this world
She loved so much
How many hearts
One life can touch.”

A Memorial Service will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate her life with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion at Trafalgar/Pro Patria Branch # 292.

We would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Victoria Hospice and also Marion’s GP Dr. McKay for their exceptional care and warmth during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC. V8T 3J3. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

With our love and sincerest sympathy to you, Tony, and all the family.

Marion was a beautiful, charming lady. I really liked her a lot as she was always joyful and happy to be with. My memories of her are all about family get-togethers with lots of laughs and fun times.

it was such a shock to open the newspaper and see her picture and related obituary. We had no idea that she was so unwell.

She will truly be missed by us and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her!

Take care Tony, and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

With our love, Susan & Gordon Dawson

  • Nina Hall and Mary Zielonka

We were very very sad to hear of the death of my cousin (to Nina) and niece (to Mary). We send our heartfelt condolences to her husband, children and grandchildren.

I (Nina) remember spending happy holidays in London with my Aunt and Uncle, and cousins Marion and Ken. We had a lot of fun. Marion was a bridesmaid at my mother’s (her aunt’s) wedding and I was a bridesmaid at her wedding to Roy. (My mother is now nearly 90 and unable to see, which I why I am sending this for both of us)

In life, Marion and I shared a name, the marriage of our children, Shawna and Steve and thanks to Cathy and Mario, a final Mother’s Day celebration in Victoria last May. Our lives were full of hope at that time.

Thank you for the warm memories . We are truly sorry for your loss.

    Judith and Stanley Overbaugh
