Marnie died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on May 10, 2024 in Victoria, BC. She was born on August 15, 1959 in Calgary, Alberta.

She is survived by her children, Kristy (Scott), and Jennifer; her granddaughter Chandlyr, granddog Mike; brothers Rob (Bobbie) and Jerry; nephew Tim (Kylie); and niece Sarah (Brett). She will be missed by many other relatives, friends and members of the community.

Marnie moved to Victoria from Calgary as a child with her parents (Stan and Joyce) and two brothers (Rob and Jerry). She graduated from Victoria high school and then worked in customer service throughout the years; the longest being the front counter at Mayfair Lanes until its closure. Marnie loved to spend time with her friends and family, laughing and just being together. She loved dogs, to her they’re all “PUPPIES!”, even though she was allergic that didn’t stop her from wanting to pet them all. Marnie also was a proud Canucks fan and enjoyed collecting postcards from all over the world, and anything with dogs on it.

A Celebration of Marnie’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Friday June 7, 2024 at 2:00pm.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you Kristy & Jenn. I know Marnie was so proud of both of you and she loved telling me about you all every time we talked. I’m so sorry that I didn’t do a better job of keeping in touch with her. I will miss her terribly. Love to you all and love to Marnie.

Jen, Kristy and family, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I first met Marnie at a “Duff” Thanksgiving dinner at the blue church. But several years later I had an unexpected encounter with her when she ordered some of my Tea for Twos over FB. At the time I didn’t remember who she was until I was inside her apartment. Then I noticed all these familiar faces in photos all around her house. These pictures were of Jen, Kristy, Scott and Chandlyr. When I told her I knew these people see beamed and happily boasted they were her family. I could tell how precious the four of you were to her. We visited for 30 minutes all the while talking about how proud she was of you all. To this day I still remember her beaming smile.

I hope once your sadness of her passing has started to wain, that the sadness will be filled wonderful memories of your mom. The four of you were her joy.

It is with great sadness I write this. Marnie was an exceptional person. Always cheerful, with a the most beautiful smile. She had been my friend for many many years. I will miss so much about her. How she got so excited to see “puppies”. Her always calling me “Polly” (long story). I will miss her fabulous sense of humor. Most of all, I will miss “HER”. My deepest condolences to the family. With much love to you all…..
