Murphy, Mary Annabel “Anne”
Our beloved Anne passed away in Victoria on February 11, 2010. She was born in Barrie, Ontario on April 10, 1909. Predeceased by her husband, William; son, Paul and daughter, Patricia; brothers, Ralph and Fred Cavanagh. Survived by her daughters, Margaret Murphy and Mary (Richard) Lupien; sister, Margaret Cavanagh; son-in-law, Dan Murphy; grandchildren, Julie Costello, David and Laura Murphy; great-grandson, Aidan Costello and many nieces and nephews. Anne loved classical music, and enjoyed strolls in the garden, playing bridge and going to church activities. She was a kind and gentle personality who was loved and respected by all who knew her. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all of the staff at Mount St. Mary Hospital, especially Burdett House, for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held at McCall Bros. on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Prayers will be offered at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL, Blanshard & View Streets on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 12:10 pm with reception in the Church Hall. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount St. Mary Foundation, 861 Fairfield Road, Victoria, BC V8V 5A9.

Mary Ferguson My heartfelt condolences to Margaret and Mary on the passing of their dear mother. She was such a kind and generous soul. She always welcomed us warmly into her home. We especially enjoyed visiting at Christmas when she offered us a multitude of baked goods. Her shortbread cookies were legendary. We will remember her fondly.
