Born on May 16th, 1925 in St. John, New Brunswick, passed away on July 30th, 2016 in Saanichton, BC. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dino; sons, Chris (Nancy) and Greg (Joanna); daughter-in-law, Dawna and grandchildren, Ryan, Micheal, Anthony, Kyla, Jessalynn and great grandchildren, Adalyn and Paisley (who passed away shortly after birth).
As a young adult, Teresa worked for the RCMP Detachment in St. John, NB and met her future husband, Dino. She then won a position with the Department of Foreign Affairs working at the Canadian Embassy in The Hague, Holland. Meanwhile, Dino was working as a Visa Control officer at the Embassy in Rome, Italy. Teresa thought this was too far, joined Dino in Rome and they were subsequently married in a chapel in St. Peter’s Basilica in March, 1958. They enjoyed postings to Vienna, Austria, Berne, Switzerland, Montreal, Toronto, Rome, Italy again and finally Ottawa where Dino retired. They moved to Saanichton in 1998 to be close to their sons and grandchildren.
Teresa was battling a recurring cancer that took her life on July 30th, 2016. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital and the Palliative care unit for the kindness, care and comfort they provided Teresa.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Parish in Sidney, BC at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2016. Reception to follow at the parish.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cancer research foundation.
