Meta (May) Fife, nee Klatt, was born and raised in Sutherland, Saskatchewan with her three brothers and four sisters on September 18, 1915. She passed away in Victoria Hospice on August 8, 2009. On September 1, 1935, Bill and May started their seventy-four year long marriage which was blessed with four children, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. May worked alongside Bill in all his entrepreneurial adventures which saw her working as a gas station attendant, fox farmer and grocery store head cashier to name a few. May was graced with a lovely singing voice and enjoyed participating in a number of choirs over her lifetime and was very sad when, in her eighties, her voice weakened and she decided she needed to retire from singing. May will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Bill; her sister, Elsa; her son, Bill Jr. (JoAnn); her daughters, Audrey (Milt), Diana (Bruce), and Linda (Paul); her grandchildren, Shelley, Pam, Ian, Teresa, Sherrie, Milt Jr., Tammy, Heath, Christopher and Stephanie as well as fourteen great grandchildren.

You are very much loved and you will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in May’s name may be made to Hospice.
