Michael Bennett Lowe, born in Victoria, BC on April 15, 1945, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at home, surrounded by family.
Mike grew up in Victoria and graduated from Mount View High School in 1962. He began his career as an apprentice design mechanical and piping draftsman at Victoria Machinery Depot (VMD), where he contributed to the construction of BC Ferries Queen fleet of vessels and the Sedco 135-F off-shore drilling rig. He later continued his drafting career as an engineering draftsman with BC Tel. In 1980, Mike embraced entrepreneurship and purchased Royal Oak Cablevision, which he operated until his retirement in 1995.
When his boys were young, Mike volunteered as a baseball coach at Gordon Head Little League. After retiring, Mike joined the Royal Colwood Golf Club, where he was an honorary member. He also devoted countless hours to researching and documenting the family’s genealogy—work he took great pride in.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol; his sons Greg (Tina) and Steve (Steph); and grandchildren Ethan, Riley, Shayna, Evan.
He will be remembered for his ingenuity, problem-solving spirit, and dedication to his family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Parimi, Dr. Green, and the community nurses for their kind and compassionate care during Mike’s final months.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no service will be held.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
