I had only met Grandma Suds one time and this was later in her life but i feel as i have known her forever with the stories i have heard from her large and loving family… She was an amazing lady and will be missed.. My prayers stay with the family.
A small piece of my heart is broken as we say goodbye to Aunty Mona. So many memories of the Sutherland visits to the farm, being able to have a sleep over in St Albert, the lemonaid stand she made for Maureen and I, her beautiful art work, her laughter when I would call Mark Marco Polo are just a few. She was so wonderful and caring when at a young age we lost our mom, her sister Connie. She always kept in close contact with Dad and helped us all through the grief and loss. She was a care giver to so many and did it with a smile and a hug. Her greatest tribute is the wonderful family her and uncle Bill raised. She was a lady who truly lived her Christianity and was a shiny example to us all. Our lives are so much richer for having known and loved her.
Dear Jeannie, Donna and David,
I am remembering your dear Mom today as a woman of commitment to her beliefs, strong in her faith and love of God. She was an instrument of encouragement to many and especially to the renewal of spirituality at God’s perfect time for those of us who were open to receive. Jim and I certainly benefited greatly ever since in our lives and our faith, I am forever grateful to God for our knowing a stronghearted, brave and dedicated example dear Mona was to us. I smile now as I envision Jim and Mona sitting at the banquet table enjoying their Heavenly home. May God’s peace and comfort surround you all. Love, Veronica.

My earliest years I remember well. That portion of my life was made rich through 2 families on either side of us.: the Stan and Marg Hedstrom family to the east and the Bill and Mona Sutherland family to the west. It was with their sons, Bruce Hedstsrom and David Sutherland, that Ross and I played with constantly: from yard to yard and from home to home. I recall clearly one day when in the Sutherland home Mona, wanting us to play outside on such a sunny day, talked of the sunbeams outside and that we should go outside to catch them. This we raced out to do! Mona was someone so cheerful, positive and enthusiastic. She had the gift of joy and couldn’t keep it to herself. She shared it with everyone. How fortunate we all have been to know her. David, Jeanie and
Donna, we all share in the joy of knowing your Mom and of the sadness in her passing. And yet we are glad for her as she will now be overflowing with joy in heaven!
