Myrna Edythe Barr, age 81, died peacefully with her family on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St.Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She was born on September 18, 1935 in Hoosier, Saskatchewan.
Myrna is survived by her loving partner of 25 years, Cliff Pepper; her children, Bill Molner (spouse, Sue), Christine Molnar (spouse, Jim) and George Molnar (partner, Richard); her grandchildren, Kaylin and Emerson Molnar and her dog, Tequila.
Myrna graduated from Victoria High School in 1953, then enlisted with the RCAF in September of that year and spent 1 1/2 years posted in Ontario and Quebec. Myrna then met and married Bill Molnar in Victoria and settled into a house on Camrose Crescent where she met many friends for life and enjoyed motherhood raising three kids Bill, Christine, and George. The family moved to Alberta briefly in the early 70’s then back to Victoria in 1975. From then until 1988, Myrna was a driver for Easter Seal, was a secretary for RCMP regional, and a secretary for Church of The Way. In 1991, Myrna met Cliff Pepper and that was the start of many wonderful years together, including lots of RV camping around BC and to Palm Desert, summer trips with family to Saratoga Beach, Alaska cruises, and loved their Honolulu time. Some of Myrna’s favourite things to do were hiking, skiing, swimming, bicycle riding, reading, and daily walks with her dogs Charlie and then Tequila. She loved to have Happy Hour and meals out with the family.
Myrna was predeceased by her brother Lawrence, father John, mother Margaret, and former spouse Bill Molnar Sr.
The family wishes to acknowledge the superlative care provided by medical staff at St.Paul’s palliative care unit.
A celebration of Myrna’s life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1:30pm.

Tim and Mark Hiltz Words can’t convey the heaviness in our hearts when we learned the news that our friend Myrna had left us. She was tremendously kind and generous, and we shared many good laughs together. Myrna’s wonderful sense of humour and good nature carries on in the lives of her three children. Today we may shed tears for sweet Myrna, but they will be tears of joy and celebration for the privilege of having known this great soul. A poem for Myrna:
Up and away, like the dew of the morning
That soars from the earth, to its home in the sun
So let me steal away, gently, and lovingly
Only remembered by what I have doneYes like the fragrance that wanders in freshness
When the flower that it came from has closed up and gone
So would I be to this world’s weary traveller
Only remembered by what I have doneNot myself, but the truth, that in life I have spoken
Not myself, but the seed, that in life I have sown
Shall pass on to ages, all about me forgotten
Save the truth I have spoken, the things I have done

Karyn Smith (Valleau) I am so very sorry for your loss. Myrna was a really good person. My grandfather married her mother and over the years we came to know Myrna. My parents really enjoyed their times together down South. My Dad (Bob) would call her his “half-assed” sister and they always had such a good laugh over that!! She will be missed.
