I was sorry to hear just today of both of your mother and brother’s passing. My mom and your mom were friends in Belmont Park. Bruce and I had a few “dates” – we were all of 8 or 9 nine years old I think – at the A & W on the highway. Your mom was always the driver. I was very young but I remember you mom as just being so kind. Please accept my sincere condolences – what a terrible time for you all.

I was very sad to hear that your mom has passed away. She was a beautiful person – always smiling, very sweet and caring. I worked with her many years ago. I visited her a couple times after she retired, but then lost touch. She will be dearly missed!

    Hello Sheila

Not sure if you will remember our family but you were our first babysitter when you lived at 1208 Craigflower. Your mother and my husband Bob used to ride the bus together to work. That was back in 1974 or soon after. We had two daughters Emily, born in 1972 and Clare born in Victoria in 1975.

I always remember your mother’s assistance in getting you started in the babysitting world with me as a nervous young mother. Those years are full of fond memories of the neighbours and neighbourhood. Many of the original folks have recently moved on. The Nelson’s next door sold after Peter Nelson’s death last year. The Edwards next to them sold last spring as an estate sale as well.

You and your family might be interested to know that I purchased 1208 Craigflower in 2002 and Clare become the eventual owner a couple of years later. She had her first child Wyatt in that home. It has just been sold yesterday to another young family. I think that is the third young couple who have started out in your old home.

My regards and condolences to you and your family

    Sincerely

    Charlotte Cronin

I have know Nancy off and on for twenty years. We saw each other regularly each second month for the Naval Photographers luncheon. I have always known Nancy to the highest regard as a very concerned, giving and humble person. She was the one person I would always be glad to have by my side and to talk to. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and especially by the group of Navy photographers who all loved her.
Our hearts go out to her family.

I was sorry to read about Nancy’s passing. I was her gardener when she lived on Sinclair Road, I used to enjoy our chats when I worked around her place. Nancy was always cheerful, even when she was going off to dialysis, she was a lovely woman.

In ways we do not understand, Aunt Nan will be present in our lives forever. Something good will happen tomorrow or the day after. Love and happy memories will lead us through our sorrow.

  • BJ and Randy Sachro

Jim, Sheila, Monty, Jordan and Jessica,

We can not imagine the sorrow you must feel, losing two loved ones in such a short time frame. We share your grief. Our dear, sweet Aunt Nan is free from suffering and has joined those dear to her that made the journey ahead. May fond memories of your mother/ grandmother somehow soften your sorrow. May the close bonds of friends and family see you through.

    BJ and Randy Sachro
