Peacefully on March 28, 2009 in Victoria in her 91st year. She is survived by her son, Murray (Candy) and her granddaughters, Alicia and Jennifer. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted from MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Monday, April 6th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Family Centre.

Jim Bates Hello, old friend. I’m sorry that it takes a sad event like your mom’s passing to reconnect with you. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss- you know that your mom was a second mother to me when we were growing up. She was strong in ways we can only understand now, being parents ourselves. She was one of the most loving people I ever had the privelege to know. You can take comfort in your mother’s love for you- even as a child I could feel it radiate through the room. She is with your dad in our Father’s house.

She is not in any pain now and is with your father and happier now. I really fell for you and know how you are feeling. Take care and if there is anything I can do for you let me know. I am just a phone call away. I can not go on Monday as I can not leave work. Will be thinking of you though.

Jane Thom We appreciated how welcoming and cheerful Mrs. Spark was when we first moved to Walter St. in 1977. I think she made it a point to welcome new people, and to talk with as many as she could, to create a neighbourhood feeling.
When my husband took the children around at Hallowe’en, Mrs. Spark was always dressed up to add to the excitement and fun of the event.
We miss her energy and friendliness on the street, and we express our condolences to the family.

Jo-Anne & Neil Vickers We are saddened to hear of Norah’s passing. A very dear and giving woman, who for several years, with Gerry, cared lovingly for 2 of our dogs while we took holidays. “Brenna” and “Maxi” had the best of care and love in the Spark home.
We still have some transplanted flowers Norah gave us several years ago, and often think of her when they are blooming in late summer.
We send our sympathy to her son and family.

Nora and Gerry were my “kitty corner” neighbours for many years.
Nora introduced me to gardening and i would often find bags of divided plants from her yard, hanging on my fence posts.
I would also then pass along cuttings and seedlings from her and soon, many of the neighbours were growing the same plants, all from Nora’s garden.
And yes, there was always something special put aside for my son at halloween.
