June 9th 1929 – May 26th 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend Olga Miller. She died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on May 26th , 2015 following a long struggle with deteriorating health.
Olga will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years Gary, children Patti and David, son-in-law Pat Meadows and her beloved grandchildren, Angela and Thomas. She also leaves to mourn her sister Lil ( Norm ) Negrey, brother John Golik, many relatives and dear friends.
Olga was born in Nelson B.C. and grew up in South Slocan, B.C. After graduating high school, she moved to Victoria to attend the nursing program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital and graduated in 1951. During this time she met and made life long friends. She relocated to Penticton to work in the hospital OR and met Gary and they were married in Victoria in 1957. She left nursing to raise her family and returned to work in a pediatrician’s office and enjoyed her contact with all the families. She and Gary enjoyed many years of travel in their retirement.
Olga lived a full life and was most happy with family and friends close by. She was an extremely positive person, and her generous and caring spirit will be missed by all that knew her.
We would like to convey our sincere thanks to all the Health Care Professionals that have helped her throughout the years, their kindness is much appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 5th 2015 at 2 p.m. at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson and Vancouver Streets. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Breast Cancer or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

George and Elaine Puritch Some one once said that it is not the time we have on earth that is important but what we do with that time. With Olga, she blessed all of us who knew her with her kindness, gentleness and compassion. She was always gracious and more concerned about how others felt rather than herself. Her life touched many and she will always be alive in our hearts.
