July 30, 1955 – August 24, 2011.

Patrick John Melvin Causgrove-Carter passed away on August 24, 2011 in Victoria, BC. Patrick was born July 30, 1955 in Windsor, Ontario. Patrick is survived by his wife of 19 years, Diana Carney; his children Christopher Carter, Lexi Carter and her fiance Brent Herron.

Patrick is the beloved son of Julie Frances Causgrove Carter and her beloved husband Reginald (Deceased 1994). Beloved brother of Lynne and Bill Bolton (Both deceased 1994), Reginald and Sandy Carter (Sandy deceased 2011) of Lansing, Michigan, Gary and Corry Carter of Georgetown, Robert and Maureen Carter of La Salle, Timothy and Eva Carter of Markham, Mary Elizabeth Carter (Deceased 1994) and her husband Michael McNamara of Windsor, and Julie Ann Ellis Carter and her husband Paul Ellis of Windsor.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, he attended Massey High School. He met and married Janice Ouelette Carter (Deceased 2010) and had their two beautiful children Christopher and Lexi. They lived in Windsor, London, and Toronto.

In 1990, Patrick went to Houston, Texas for a two week vacation and met Diana. Their first date was August 24, 1990. They married July 1992. After living in Houston, Texas for 18 years, Pat returned to Canada and was experiencing significant personal and professional success when fate cut short his efforts.

Anyone who knew Patrick knew he loved to have fun and was the life of the party. His main passions were working, baseball, golf, and the Rolling Stones.

Patrick loved to include anybody in his life and encouraged them to join in in sharing his passions. His goal every day was to help someone even in the smallest way whether it was a smile and a hello to a total stranger to helping someone with a project. He had a special knack for turning the negative into a positive and he approached all situations with this attitude.

He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Private services will be held in Windsor, Ontario.

    Diana,

It was a shock, and a great loss for all when we heard of Pat’s passing. I had the pleasure of knowing Pat for the time he was with Action \ BMS and he definately made his mark. It was very nice to meet his daughter Lexi at the service in Victoria. I never had the opportunity to meet his son. I spent allot of time with Pat since he had started with us, and feel blessed to have been able to know him. My condolences go out to his family and extended family.

Pat was far too young to leave us, but these are not choices we have a hand in. Pat fit so well in our company, and gave so much of himself. I guess there are just no words. Always remember that we are family now too, that is just how this company seems to work, and likely why Pat fit so well with us.

It’s very hard to lose such a great man at such a young age. Patrick was one of the nicest, most laid back, happy-go-lucky guys I know. He was always happy on life and loved everything he did. I’m going to miss seeing his smiling face and miss his love and passion for baseball, golf, and most especially Diana. Patrick, I’ll miss you my friend!

    Hi Diana
I understand how difficult it is to lose your partner. Sandy and I love you both and enjoyed our opportunity to be with you and Pat in San Antonio in October when the Tigers were in the race for the World Series. We shared the love you have for baseball and the joy you had for each other. I will see you in September but you and Pat will always be in my heart. Pat enjoyed life with you and it was obvious to everyone. Thank you.

Diana – Our thoughts and prayers are with you. It is hard to imagine that Pat has gone – it seems like yesterday we were having lunch at Roseland. So happy we were able to spend a little time with you in May. We will see you in September.

The memories of Pat are everlasting in my heart. My sympathies are with his family.
I went to high school with Pat, there were a bunch of us that always hung around together…in the smoking area at school or maybe a quick draft beer at the Riviera….
I know you will keep the party going until we all meet again…
It was a pleasure to have known you…
    R.I.P. my friend

Hard to beleave, sometime you just thinks someone will be around forever. Pat was a real blessing in my life and a friend, we lost contact for a season but I can hear his voice saying What up Johnny. My hear goes out to Diana and the rest of the family & friends. I have no doubt you in heaven Pat and we will see each other again. I know the Lord is getting used to the Stones by now.
Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

    Diana –
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this very sad time. I am grateful to have been a part of Pat’s life – he was a very personable man and quite humorous as well. Although I have only known you and Pat for a short time – grateful that you became my neighbours as well as friends – grateful for sharing your home and hospitality with me. Pat was a wonderful man and my memories of him are that of his generosity and willingness to help out. May he rest in peace and you Diana, will find comfort in knowing that he is in a better place and waiting for you to join him in heaven…..
    God Bless you,
    Rachael

Patrick was one of the sweetest men I’ve met. From my vantage point, he made Diana very, very happy. He will be sorely missed. I was so pleased he was excelling in his Canadian career (no surprise). We can’t wait to see you again in Heaven, Patrick. Say hello to my Grandmommie and Granddaddy (you’ll know him by his overalls and gimmee cap!). Love to you as well, Diana. My heart breaks for you at this difficult time.

  • Diana Carney
