Pearl was 101 years, 9 months and 15 days old. Born in St. John, New Brunswick weighing under 2 lbs, she was a survivor.

The Latin name for Pearl means precious or of great value. The kingdom of Heaven is described by Jesus as a merchant seeking goodly pearls. Once a pearl of great value is found, the merchant sells everything he owns to buy this pearl. And our Pearl was always seeking heavenly treasures. Her heart was with God.

Pearl certainly was of “great value” to all those she came across. Filled with spunk, love and fun, Pearl was a friend to all. She worked on perfecting a positive attitude throughout her life which she is well known for. She loved the writings of Norman Vincent Peale.

She spent her lifetime as a homemaker, caring for her husband Fred and her 4 children, June, Larry, Sandra and Paul while also being a mom to her sons-in-law Ronald and Roy (deceased) and daughters-in-law Stella and Aggie. She then went on to care for several of her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with laughter and love.

Later in life as she watched her husband Fred, son Paul and many friends pass on, she kept busy by helping others.  She had so much love for all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and the many friends she met throughout her life. She will be missed!

A special Thank You to Sunset Lodge Staff and Chown Place Staff and Friends for all their love and care of Pearl over the years. The family really appreciates it!

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 1:00 pm at the Gorge Society Seniors Housing located at Chown Place.
