Our beloved father, Brian, passed away at home peacefully on 26th October 2024. He was born in Bangor, Wales on 01 August 1936. After completing two years of military service in the Royal Air Force he joined the British Civil Service for a year. Becoming bored, he learned from an “older fellow” that the Commonwealth countries were accepting invitations for military service so he dutifully applied to a number of countries and Canada was the first to respond. He came to Canada in 1957 where early in his military training he met the love of his life, Jacqueline. Within a few years they were married and started a family while getting posted to various bases across the country and overseas. As an electronics technician and then a supply officer, he attained the rank of Warrant Officer when he retired from the military after 27 years of service. He then entered the Public Service, spending his time between Ottawa, ON and finally Victoria, BC. Upon retiring from the Public Service, he enjoyed gardening in the quiet suburbs of Oak Bay in Victoria.

Brian is predeceased by his wife of 63 years. Survived by his sons, Tomas and Jason; daughters-in-law, Teresa and Nicole; grandchildren Matthew and Samantha and step-granddaughter Marie Claire.

He will be sorely missed.

At his request, there will be no service and no flowers please. Donations may be given to the BC Cancer Society.

Special thanks to BC Hospice for the tender in home care that he was provided in his last few months. He was treated with dignity and respect for which we are forever grateful.

Condolences may be shared with the family below.

    I will miss my neighbour.
Brian was a delightful fellow ,always calm & friendly. A great addition to the neighborhood
We solved many matters of the world sitting on the driveway wall in the sun just before he set out to do his daily grocery shopping
I will miss seeing Brian across the street in the garden where he appeared regularly for 25+or so years.

    Condolences to the family.
