Dear Shannon, We were so sad to get your note about Colin’s passing. How wonderful to read about his amazing life! We knew he was a very smart, caring adventurous and loving friend and husband to you, Shannon, but it was also amazing to read about how he grew into the man that we knew.
You will miss him so much, but what incredible, lovely memories you have of a really remarkable best friend! We will always smile when we think of Colin and the amazing role model he was for a life well-lived! Love to you~

  • Ray Hebden

On catching up with some news I was saddened to read of Colin’s passing. Please accept condolences and sympathies from my brother, Bill and I as well as all the Hebden family.

I recall Colin’s keen intelligence and wit which I initially found a bit intimidating when I was in his office so often for being late to school (early morning paper route). But in those years at Oak Bay Jr. High I learned to respect him for his dedication to education. Later when I knew him better as a family friend I also respected him for his dedication to his family.

I am sorry that we will not be able to attend the service for Colin on Tuesday. I have a commitment in Vancouver that I cannot change and Heather is staying in Vancouver with our daughter after Janet’s recent surgury. But our thoughts will be with you.

  • Sharon Lassey, Lower Vancouver Island Retired Teachers

Shannon, on behalf of the Lower Vancouver Island Retired Teachers, I wish to express our condolences on the passing of Colin. It is particularly sad for us to see another of our colleagues passing away. We have missed you both at our luncheons. I am sure that he will be missed. Please take the time to remember the happy times and enjoy some of the memories of family get togethers.
