Perry Chow passed away March 4th in VGH at age 69. Predeceased by parents Helen & Harry Chow. Survived by sister Denise, brother-in-law Ian and many dear cousins.
Perry was happiest when riding his trials motorcycle, fishing, black-powder shooting and talking about motorcycles and military facts. He formed many friendships from his long involvement with the Victoria Motorcycle Club, Victoria Fish & Game Club, the Malahat Marauders and the Victoria-Esquimalt Military Re-enactors. He worked as a cook before becoming a journeyman sheet metal worker. With his cooking skills, he was regularly found preparing feasts for his beloved clubs and family.
Perry was outgoing, generous, and kind-hearted. Always ready to lend a hand he served many roles within his various clubs. Despite enduring complex health challenges, he remained optimistic to the end. A special mention goes to his loyal friends who were there for him during all his health challenges and beyond.
To his ‘army’ of caring health professionals: doctors, nurses, clinicians, and hospital staff – your care was amazing. We thank you all. If desired, memorial donations to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation https://www.victoriahf.ca/donate/
A celebration is planned at the Sequoia Center at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, May 7th at 2pm. RSVP to rememberingPerryC@gmail.com

Rick Kool Perry became a friend and mentor to me after a couple years into my VMC membership. Perry was very supportive in helping me during my time on the VMC Executive as Secretary, and we worked closely on the VMC membership committee.
I never had a chance to ride with Perry, but had many cups of tea discussing his passion for weapons, War reenactment and Terra Nova memories. We also had a connection through the manufacturing world, often discussing stories of our work careers.
R.I.P Perry, i already miss our conversations.

George and Pat Foster Remembering Perry Chow. Perry was an important part of the Terra Nova Committee of the Victoria Motorcycle /club. He was always willing to help with a smile. He was a great help with the Competitor Sign-ups, the Starts and the finishes.
He helped with the Thanksgiving dinners in the Lake Cowichan Community Hall. It was on his advice that we started to make soup from the turkey bones and leftover for the lunch stop on the second day of the ride.
For over 25 years he was always there to help the committee that laid out the two day event. We even named a road after him when he made Chinese lunch for the committee out near the Robertson River Area. It became know as the ‘Chinese Trail’ Fondly known to a lot of the older riders as “Pewwy”. I think Chuck and Johnny came up with this nickname. Perry loved riding the trails and loved his bikes. We are sorry for the loss of Perry. He will be missed. l

Allie Douglas and Sharon May Perry was a dear friend to our family. Despite the age difference, he was one of Stan (Douglas)’s best friends, and they spent many hours at the VMC club property together, volunteering and puttering around, as well as taking road trips to motorcycle events (Perry and Stan would both attest to Perry’s speedy driving leaving Stan “white-knuckling” it on the trips – ha).
He was also a great friend to Jim (Stan’s son), and a regular visitor to Jim’s motorcycle shop on Alpha St. – Allie (Jim’s daughter / Stan’s granddaughter) and Stan were often found there as well, and enjoyed long chats with Perry there. Sharon (Jim’s wife) first got to know Perry from attending the VMC banquet, and after Stan passed away in 2001, Perry would save Jim & Sharon seats at his table – he was great company, and such a kind man, and he always made sure the Banquet food was excellent.
After Stan and then Jim (2012) passed away, Sharon & Allie still enjoyed visits and phone calls with Perry, who had so many funny and amazing stories to tell (and strong opinions, so there was always some fun ranting together).
Rest in Peace, Perry – we will always remember you!
Sharon May (Victoria) and Allie Douglas (Richmond).

I served on the vmc board of directors with Perry for a number of years, I got to know him through that and from terranova registrations and conversations at the Terra Nova dinner tables. he was a great guy and had lots of good stories.
My family and I were at Fort Rod Hill chatting with Perry on the same day he got his ‘spider bite’,he was wearing his military reenactment uniform and a spider must have been hiding inside it. I think it all went downhill from there didn’t it?
Anyway, the rest is history…
I really enjoyed knowing him.
I named a trail in his honor out a Boyd’s pit, it’s called Chow Main.
I’ll miss you Perry
