Passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on January 27, 2013. Peter was born in Kapla, Slovenia on May 5, 1925. He is survived by his loving wife, Ferdinanda and is lovingly remembered by his son, Peter (Brenda) and daughter, Aurelia (Tony). He was a loving Father and a more loving Grandfather/Great-Grandfather to Jennifer, Lexy, Amaya and Amelie. Coming to Canada in 1956, Peter was a welder in the Somass Saw Mill for 36 years. He established one of the first Rainbow Trout Farms on Vancouver Island and created his own Shangri-La on the edge of Cherry Creek. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Sequoia Gardens Memorial, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

It was with great sadness and loss tht I recieved word of Peter’s passing.
Please accept my families deepest condolences for your loss and this time of sorrow.
We ejoyed a special bond with Peter and his trout farm, and his special husbanding skills.
I had the opportunity to visit Peter and Mrs. Peitler with my childrren and friends on the home tht he transormed into a true picturesque wonderland.
His hard work, ingenuity,and conscientious effort was never more evident than his dedication tohis home.
A special thanks to Mrs. Peitler for her and Peter’s hospitality on the many occasions that we had to visit.
