MACBETH, Petricia Clark (nee Maxwell) It’s with great sadness, Petricia’s children announce her death at age 82. Petricia passed away peacefully at her residence in Victoria on June 1, 2009. Petricia, affectionately known as Trish by those closest to her since she was a little girl, was born in Auchencairn, Scotland on October 25, 1926. She grew up and carried forever the memories, of days spent bounding through the green fields and `guddling’ in clear creeks around her childhood home `Brae Lea’, with lifelong friend Jenny. While working as a nanny and on a trip to Lossiemouth, Scotland she met her husband James Ian Macbeth at the Stotfield Hotel. They shared a dance, and were forever partners. In 1952 they immigrated to Canada and settled in Victoria, where together they raised their family of 5 children. Trish, her children now growing or grown, began working outside the home as a geriatric caretaker where she was adored by her patients for her infectious laugh and sincere care and attention. She worked at a number of Victoria homes, finally ending her working days at Sandringham Hospital. In her retirement Trish made numerous trips back to Scotland, but mostly lived for her family. She is predeceased by her husband James Ian (1984) and son James Stewart (1976). She is survived by her other four children and their spouses; Gail in North Vancouver, Cheryl (Mike) of Toronto, Scott (Toni) of Victoria, Alan (Tara) of Alexandria, VA. and four grandsons (Nicholas, Kyle, Kenneth and Brendan). At Petricia’s request, a private ceremony will be held for family only, on Wednesday June 10. Interment will follow on Thursday June 11 at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, www.heartandstroke.ca . For more information, Alan Macbeth can be reached at 571-233-1408. Goodbye mum, dad’s been waiting for you.
