So sad to hear that Phyllis passed away. She was a cousin of my late Mother and I have many happy memories of her and her sister Alice’s visits to Scotland, when my Mum and Dad were alive. It is sad to say goodbye to this lovely lady.

My sincerest condolence on your loss. Phyllis was a very good friend of my grandmother the late Hazel Gardner and her husband the late E.P. “Ted” Gardner of Britannia Bay in the West End of Ottawa. They attended the Parish of All Saints Anglican Church in the area of Westboro. I personally knew her as a very warm and sensitive woman who with a twinkle in her eye immediately made you feel welcome in her presence. God Bless and Take Care.

We offer our sincere condolences to all of Phyllis’ family. My deceased parents Renney and Mildred Haynes lived at 304 – 1122 Hilda Street, as original owners and were pleased to call Phyllis their friend. My husband Gary was the condo caretaker in the 1990″s and also knew Phyllis. I enjoyed many chats with Phyllis as I visited my parents over many years, until we recently sold the condo this past September. Phyllis was always up for a chat, and always beautifully attired. We have made a donation to the SPCA in her memory. Gone, but not forgotten.

Phyllis was a dear friend of our parents, Shirley and Bob Crockatt, while they lived in Britannia, west of Ottawa. She was a kind, thoughtful and lovely person who enjoyed walking Britannia beach and the bike paths with our parents and our children and dog – taking our children to Christmas pantomimes and generally being a light everyone’s life with her cheerful good nature. We missed her when she moved to Victoria and send along our deepest condolences to her family as you grieve her passing. A lovely lady who will be missed.

On behalf of the Scottish “cousins” I send our sincere condolences to all the family. Phyllis was a remarkable lady whose kindness, affection and warm humanity will always be remembered. She followed in her mother’s footsteps in showing generosity to our family. Our late mother, Phyl’s cousin, held her in high esteem and greatly enjoyed the times they spent together tracing the family tree and touring Scotland. On her visits to Greenock, Phyllis took an interest in and subsequently send donations to the work of the Church we attend. With Church Camp imminent it seems appropriate to make a donation to that in memory of Phyllis.

I offer my sincere condolences to all of Phyllis’ family. Phyllis was my trusted right hand for many years in the government including my time as Deputy Minister of EMR and was always able to steer me in the right direction during our hectic working days. I also remember how devoted she was to her mother who lived with her at their home near the Ottawa River. She was an extremely capable and cheerful work companion and I dearly missed her presence when I retired from government to go into private practice. I will make a donation to our local hospital in her memory.
