Goodbye dear friend – until we meet again! Give JJ a hug for me.

I hope I have half as much feistiness and stamina as Phyllis did when I am aged! She was a wonderful force, kind and friendly, opinionated and clever. Her inspiring history was rich and full; she’d known joy and sorrow but did not let either define her… it was an honour to meet her by chance, however briefly. Long live Phyllis in the minds and memories of anyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

My sincere condolences to your family. I had the pleasure of meeting Phyllis at the Fairmont Hotel just this past Christmas. She’d been out for a walk and it was during an evening just before Christmas. My sister and I were there to see the trees after finishing up some shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with Phyllis, as she told us some really interesting stories abour her life. She had a wonderful sense of humour. We were just up the stairs from the lobby, admiring the view of the Harbour, and were so glad we had a chance to meet. We offered to drive her home, but she said she was happy to walk. She said she loved talking to young people, and we enjoyed talking with her too. We really loved seeing this photo of her when she was younger. Thank-you for posting it.

    Dear Maureen and Joyce,
I have known Joyce in the past year only, but she often talked about you two when we would go out for tea or a bite to eat. She loved you very much, and enjoyed her freedom to walk about town and make friends with the youth of her neighborhood. I have a few photos i took of her in the last year, and i’m glad you put a photo of her in her youth…She was very proud of that time of her life. She was a proud but gentle heart. She is in a better place now, and has joined her son and her parents. My condolescences to you and yours.

Maureen and Joyce – my sincere sympathy at the loss of your sister Phyl. The last time I met her was in 2003. I was in Victoria and had lunch with Phyl, Aunt Kay, Lynne and Don. It was so nice to see her again.

Dear Maureen and Joyce and Darryl
I remember aunt Phyllis from when I was a little girl. Jack was my father Pete’s brother. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you. Wendy

Hello Maureen and Joyce, We are so sad to hear of the passing of aunt Phyl. It wasn’t long ago we had a chat on the phone and we often communicated through the snail mail. She appreciated being kept in touch with the Dadson family, so I tried to include her as much as possible. When she and my uncle Jack became engaged I was the person who picked out the rings, helping my grandmother at the age of 12. I always felt close to Phyl but lost track of her for a few years when she and Jack parted. I was there when Jimmy was born and sadly I have a grandson who is severly autistic. He is in a group home at the age of 33, the son of my eldest son Peter who is now 60. Please accept my deep sympathy at the loss of your sister. I love the photo you chose for her obituary.
