October 26, 1943 - August 17, 2016

With love … Pierre passed peacefully on Wednesday August 17, 2016, at 72 years of age.   Extraordinary husband to Karen. Cherished father to Romy, Philippe (Zoi) and Sasha.  Amazing Grandfather to Austin & Nina (Bukovec), Mitchell, Dante & Oliver (Hahn). A leader, teacher and mentor in his field of Hairstylists and business owners.  Pierre was well respected by all who knew him.  He touched so many lives with his big heart, great sense of humour and generous spirit.  He leaves us with a legacy of love and strength beyond measure.

Pierre and the family would like to give special thanks to the incredible staff on 8 South at Royal Jubilee Hospital.  Your tender care of Pierre will forever warm our hearts.

Friends can pay their respects at the McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, on Saturday, August 20 at 2pm for a small service honouring his memory with refreshments to follow.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

  1. I was 5 years old when Pierre married my late sister Denise. I loved to spend time with him, bombing around in his ’65 white Barracuda or hanging around “the shoppe”. It took a lot of courage to leave Paris at 19 to set up in a small town in Northern Ontario: that courage served him well over the many years he fought his cancer. To Karen, Romy, Phillipe(and Zoe) and Sasha, I share your sadness, as do all who knew him.

  4. My condolences to the Hahn family. Got to know Pierre when he lived in Sturgeon Falls, ON. He was the best hair dresser one could ever ask for. I was a client of his all the time he remained in our little town. He touched a lot of people’s hearts and when he left Sturgeon he was missed dearly. Pierre was a kind and loving ❤️ man and always had respect for everyone. R. I. P. Pierre ♥️

  5. Karen,

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Pierre. It was always a pleasure when I had the opportunity to spend time with him. My thoughts are with you and Sasha and the rest of your family at such a trying time.

  6. I met Pierre when I was a teenager and he was dating my late sister Denise. It was like we had adopted him as he was always there at meal time. He loved to eat and if he was not at our house my sister was cooking these incredible meals for him and I at his small apartment on Martin St. in Sturgeon Falls. He was an incredible foil to my father and it was fun to watch the discussions that took place over dinner. He was kind and generous and when I crashed his beloved car he refused payment and laughed it off. Pierre has left us now but he lives on in his beautiful children Romy, Phil, Sasha and their children, Pierre Leduc

  7. Pierre was my father away from home for years when I first started in the hairdressing industry. He was the most encouraging teacher and mentor and an amazing boss. He will be missed but fondly remembered forever. My condolences to the entire family.

  8. What a wonderful man Pierre was…that stylish Parisian who came to little Sturgeon Falls and gave us small-town people incredible hairdos! 🙂 And he never lost that special touch. Thinking of all of you during this emotional time. There are bonds that distance and time can’t unravel and I have so many great memories from all these years. Wishing you all comfort and joy as you recount your own memories and smile.

  9. My deepest condolences to my dear friend Romy and your entire family. Your father was an amazing person and I know you shared a special bond with him. You will find strength at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Philippe and Karen, who along with Pierre always treated me as part of the family.
