Renee had a happy life and never let the pain of cancer slow her down until her final week on earth.   Renee leaves behind her beloved husband Warren; children Carole Williams; Brad Karadimas (Rosalind); Daryl Sweeney (Barb) as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born and raised in Victoria Renee was proud of her pioneer roots and remembered all family members from generations past and could tell stories about them back to World War 1 and before.  Renee was a hard worker throughout her life and never let her age get in the way of challenging herself to learn and experience new things.

Renee was a woman of adventure and enjoyed many hobbies such as Tai Chi, Japanese flower arranging, gardening, water colour painting and antique glass and jewelry collecting.  She was also a highly skilled tennis and badminton player.  Renee was an avid birder for many years and enjoyed her walks in the wilderness identifying birds and every plant along the way.  Renee’s accomplishments are many as she attained her Masters in Bridge as well as winning the best picture of the year award at the Victoria Camera Club.

Renee was a woman with a wonderful sense of humour which never went away.  In the end Renee wanted her fancy boots on her when she passed and stated, “I always wanted to die with my boots on”. Like all things mom you accomplished your final wish.  You will be loved and missed by so many people.

Rest in Peace

We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Sweeney a number of years ago. She generously shared her memories, and history of the Heal family, when she came for tea at our home on Royal Wood shortly after we bought it. She spoke of happy memories, and her wit and bright personality left a lasting impression. We valued her visit so much. Our sympathies to Warren and Carole who shared the visit with us, and to the rest of the family.

I knew Renee and Warren through badminton circles and was so fond of them both. Renee always had a smile on her face and a kind word in her heart. When she spoke of her family, the love showed right through. She had so many interests and was a captivating spokesperson for all of them. My deepest condolences to those she held most dearly.
