It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of dad, Robert Alexander Flett. He has gone to be with his wife “Ceci” who predeceased him by 2 years. He leaves behind his daughter Roberta; stepdaughter Rosanne (lan); stepson Michael and a blended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert was born in Victoria and spent much of his childhood in James Bay. As a young boy, he delivered groceries to Emily Carr, caught fish off the breakwater and played in the halls of the Parliament Buildings where he climbed the stairs to the peak! Robert joined the Army and went to war at the age of 17. When he returned, he spent his working life in the shipyards; McKay Cormack, Yarrows and Victoria Dockyard, where he retired in June 1990. Dad had a keen sense of humour and always a twinkle in his eye that he maintained to the very end.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Veres for the exceptional care she has provided to dad for many years. We would also like to thank the Royal Oak Health Unit nurses, Hospice Nurses and Hospice Quick Response Team whose care and expertise was so appreciated.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Donations to Victoria Hospice in Robert’s name would be appreciated.
