November 17, 1928 – January 30, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Bob Katzer. Bob immigrated to Canada from Leipzig, Germany in 1939. Bob joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1947 and served his country for many years. When he retired he pursued a successful career in Real Estate. He devoted much of his spare time to the church and community. Bob married Ruth Huddleston on June 28, 1950. Bob dearly loved and was very proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; children Russell, Lee-Ann (Don), Robert and grandchildren, Corey and Michael Venn; sister-in-law, Vivian Katzer; niece, Janice (Harvey) and nephew Grant. Bob was a very dedicated, honest, loving man who will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank Claire & Rebecca for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2964 Tillicum Rd. May I offer my sympathy for the passing of your treasured husband Ruth. I worked with Bob during his time at Pemberton Holmes and remember him with the fondest of memories. His sense of humour and smiling face (I do like the picture you used for the announcement) were very much appreciated. I know his clients always felt very well looked after. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service as I do not live in Victoria anymore, but I will think of you at that time. Regards, Kerrie
Ruth, I was so sorry to hear that Bob passed away. My thoughts and prayers will go out to you and all your family. Take care now. Ted
We were so sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. So many memories come to mind, more than I can express. Bob was
a lovely person, kind, humorous, compassionate … a true friend to all who knew him. We are in Arizona at the
moment so we will not be able to attend the Memorial service, but our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
We are very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. We extend our heartfelt condolences to you Ruth and to your family. We have very fond memories of the days when we went camping….it was such fun.
May happy memories soon replace your sad hearts.

His sense of humor will be remembered from our long association (RCN) in our careers and socially as well. He and his old friend Lyal will be spinning salty dips in a different venue, be sure of that.
To Ruth and your family, my sincere condolences

We are so sorry to hear of your loss, please know that our thoughts are with you each as you go through what we are never prepared for.
Joy and I would like you to know that our prayers are with Ruth and family in this very difficult time. We regret that we will not be at the memorial service as we start for home with our trailer from the Palm Springs area. We have admired and respected Bob for many years in his capacity as Trinity’s great building manager and in his assistance with Remembrance Day services. We will miss his expertise and will be with you in spirit and with love. Bob Gartshore
We were very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. He was truly a great man. One of the best. I have many happy memories from my early years spent with the Katzers at their home and at Thetis island. My mom, Fran, sends her love and fondly remembers good times shared and a terrific friendship. You can be sure that Monty will smile to be with his dear old friend again. Much love to Ruth, Lee-Ann and Don, Russell and Rob.
