Passed away peacefully on Sat. Feb. 11, 2012. Bert was born in Northern Ireland April 25, 1919. Bert was predeceased by all of his siblings and his beloved wife Connie. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his daughter, Helen (Dave) Williamson; grandchildren, Mike (Marnie) Williamson, J.J. (Bret) Kennedy and Rob (Collette) Williamson, as well as his 5 great grandchildren, Chase & Shaelyne Williamson, Logan, Ethan and Owen Kennedy. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 working as a steam engineer in Toronto. Bert entered the Ministry of the United Church of Canada. He served in Aylsham, Sk., Flin Flon, Mb., Fernie, BC and most recently James Bay and Centennial United in Victoria. He loved music and was a proud member of the Arion Choir.
A Celebration of Bert’s Life Service with Rev. Alanna Menu officiating will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Centennial United Church. A reception will follow at Centennial Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice or charity of choice. Condolences for the family may be offered below:
