September 8, 1935 – August 16, 2011

It is with devastating sadness, after a brief illness, that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Bob Sorenson. He leaves to mourn, Beverly, his wife of 51 years; beloved daughters, Teresa Stewart (Terry Goldman), Janice (Ken) Gordon and Susan Sorenson (Russell Graham); seven grandchildren, Robert Sorenson, Jamie Mildenberger, Tory and Carly Stewart, Jacob, Lucas and Hannah Gordon; his sister, Diane (Larry) Alexander and brother, Gordon Sorenson; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and not to forget a loyal companion, his dog, Lizzie. Great-grandson of Hannah Parker, first white recorded female, born at Fort Victoria, Bob was proud of his family’s heritage, who pioneered at Rocky Point. Many thanks to the Palliative Response Team at Hospice and the Community Health care nurses who visited us at our home.

Private interment at Hatley Gardens. A Service of Remembrance will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow in the McCall’s Family Centre. Flowers gratefully declined. Any donations would be appreciated to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

    Bev and Family

We would just like to send our deepest Sympathy to you for the loss of Bob.
Although Bev we only saw each other when we were at Tillicum School, and occasionally at your Mum and Dads house, I still think of you when we are driving along Gorge Rd.. Many memories of days at School with you and Doreen.
We did not know Bob personally, but knew others who did, and said he was a great guy.
We extend our Sympathy to you and know his memory will live on in all your hearts

    Sincerely Lorna and Ron Hill

    Dear Bev and Family:

Letting you all know that you are in our thoughts as you prepare life without Bob. As we all know it is so hard to say goodbye to someone we love so much. Over time the pain you feel in your hearts will slowly subside and you will remember this great man with love, smiles and laughter. May you all find comfort in family and friends at this time and whenever you need to in the coming months…I believe Bob is chatting with Alex right now talking about how wonderful the grandchildren they shared are!!!
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday as you celebrate with family and friends the remarkable life of Bob.
    Pam and Malcolm Verley.
