Born in Victoria, December 5, 1918, Bob was a devoted son of the city until his death here February 21, 2012. Bob will be remembered by Olive, his wife of 64 years; son Russell; daughters Edeana, Gayle, Margo and Adele; sons-in-law Gerry and David; grandchildren Carissa, Tamara, Matthew, Stefanie, Amelie, Jeremie, Julie, Geoffrey, Christina and Ryan; great-grandchildren Sarah and Ryan. Growing up in Fernwood, he attended Boys Central, Vic High and Victoria College. He was a sports enthusiast – playing, refereeing and watching many different sports avidly throughout his life. Bob served Canada six years in the Dental Corps during WWII and for 35 years as an Immigration Officer. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kier MacMillan, and the ER staff at RJH.

A service will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, February 28 at McCall’s Downtown. If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Condolences to the family may be offered below.

I just read about Bob’s death in the Legion Magazine. We worked together between 1959 & 1962. He certainly was a loyal and dedicated Immigration Officer. When we wern’t working we played crib at the dock and during lunch breaks with Dan Wilson, Doug Bray, Jack McKinstry, Bob Reid.

    Bob was a great guy.
