On Thursday September 26th, Robin Waldron Edwards passed away in Victoria just shy of his 89th birthday. Born on October 5th 1924 in Kent, England, Robin immigrated to Canada as a small boy and was raised in the ruggedly beautiful Columbia Valley in Eastern British Columbia. He was among the first class of graduates from UBC’s Forest Engineering program in 1949, and spent the bulk of his career working for the BC Forest Service throughout the province. He met his first wife, Mavis White in 1955 while working in Terrace, with whom he had two daughters, Willow born in Vancouver in 1957 and Marigold born in Victoria in 1959. He married his second wife, Esther Stewart in Victoria in 1983, and was blessed with his only grandchild, Bonnie the same year. He is survived by both daughters and granddaughter.

Service to be held at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the McCall’s Family Centre. Interment will be at Hatley Memorial Gardens, 2050 Sooke Rd, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to Greenpeace and The Land Conservancy.
