BROUGHTON, Ronald Frank Ron passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2011 at the age of 79. Predeceased by his older brother Arthur. Survived by his younger brother Roy (Joyce) and also his loving family, wife, Joy; children, Doug (Julie), Deena Clark (Tom), Dale (Catherine), Wayne (Candice); and grandchildren, Leanne McKeachie (Alex), Carolyn Lampard (Luke), Valerie, Courtney Clarke (John), Rachel, Thomas, Breanne, Matthew, Lucas, Slater, Garrett, Cassidy; and great grandchildren Makenna Lampard, Camryn McKeachie. Ron graduated from Oak Bay High School in 1949 and worked, as a machinist, for many years at Hafer Machine followed by a few years at Ramsey Machine before retirement. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Saanich Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 29th at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Imadene, Box 374, Mesachie Lake, BC VOR 2NO.   • Gains family

    The Gains family were very sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. We were all in Cancun Mexico on vacation when we received the news by Email from Linda Essery. Ron was a gentlemen and we particularly remember his kindness shown to our eldest son Trevor who is also mechanically inclined and worked with Ron in his garage on projects.
