Ron passed peacefully at his home on March 3, 2025.  He was born in Victoria, BC March 21, 1933.

Ron was predeceased by his daughter, Karen and wife of 52 years, Jean, as well as siblings, Patricia, Dennis and Paul; survived by son, Doug as well as many loved nieces and nephews.  He will also be missed by many good friends and relatives.

As a young man, Ron served in the Airforce over in France during peacetime (stories sound more like party-time).  Upon returning to Canada, Ron embarked on a career in the Telecommunications industry starting with C.T.&S. and moving to BC Tel, where he worked in the Radio Microwave Department until his retirement in 1989.  In retirement, Ron and Jean had an active social life, golfing, bowling and traveling around the U.S. and Canada in various vehicles and R.V.’s; sometimes on their own but more often with a group of friends or another couple.  They enjoyed life!

A gathering will be held at the family home this spring at a yet to be determined date.

Thank you to all the health professionals who cared for Ron through the years.

We are deeply saddened to hear about Ron’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Doug during this difficult time.

Ron was a remarkable individual with a great sense of humour that always brought smiles to those around him. We fondly remember how he would drive the boys to hockey practice at lightning speed, making every trip an exciting adventure. There is no doubt where Doug got his driving skills from.

His presence will always be felt around Prospect Lake and we are all fortunate that his love for bowling and playful spirit is forever captured on episode 8 of Gracepoint.

Till we see you again, Ron.

Sorry to hear about your dad Doug. He was a good uncle and remembered well but over time family spread apart and don’t see much of each other unfortunately. Take care, all the best to you .
