Rosa Marvin Dreyfus de Arbour passed away on January 1, 2016 at the age of 72. She died peacefully at Victoria Hospice. Born June 13, 1943 in San Salvador, El Salvador, Marvin was the middle child and only girl in her family.

At the age of 20, she married Jack Arbour in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on March 30, 1963. She moved many times, living in Trinidad, Colombia, Honduras, Ecuador, Guatemala, and New Jersey, before moving to Victoria in 2003.

Marvin was an accomplished painter and sculptress, a homemaker, a teacher, a seamstress, and a beloved friend.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack; her children Kim, David, Stephen (Sara), and Peter (Hiroko); and eight grandchildren.

A Celebration of Marvin’s life will be held in McCALL’S SEQUOIA GARDENS MEMORIAL, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Saturday January 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Special thanks to all who made it possible for Marvin to pass on comfortably.
