Rosemary Alice Carter passed away suddenly on March 23, 2025, in Victoria, BC, at the age of 96. She was born on December 3, 1928, in New Delhi, India, to Cecil and Alice Rae.
Rosemary was predeceased by her husbands, Donald Hodge and Dudley Carter and her beloved daughter, Fiona Williamson.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Ewen Hodge (Ingrid) and Moira Suddaby (Roy); her grandchildren, Roger (Irena), Genevieve, Toryn, Griffin (Nadia), and Tiegan; her stepchildren, Rhoda Chilton and Nigel Carter (Pat), and son-in-law Doug Williamson (Val) all who were very dear to her. She will also be missed by the many wonderful friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, wit, and compassion.
Rosemary was devoted to all her four-legged friends of Oak Bay and was often more likely to remember the names of the dogs than their owners!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary’s honour may be made to the Victoria Bulldog Society: Victoria Bulldog Society or to a charity of your choice.

Every dog’s tail in heaven will wag and none more than that of our Daisy who Rosemary doted over for nine years in our quiet lane. Rosemary was the loveliest, kindest and most gentle person you could possibly meet and our neighbourhood will feel her loss.
