Mum passed peacefully on November 7, 2025. She joins her husband, John Woolcock; son, Robert Woolcock; mother, Gladys Campbell; brother, Leroy Campbell, and many other relatives and friends in heaven.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lauren Cornelison (Mitch); granddaughters, Natasha VanderVies (Joel), Alaina Cornelison, and Jenelle Cornelison; great granddaughters, Jocelyn and Evelyn VanderVies; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Mum grew up in rural Saskatchewan until the age of 12, then lived in Trail until she graduated from High School. After graduation, she moved to Victoria to take nursing at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She worked in the OR at St. Joseph’s for many years as well as a variety of nursing homes in Victoria and Duncan.
Mum was a lover of animals throughout her entire life. She was often heard saying that she liked animals better than people. She was especially fond of her last tuxedo cats, Tom, Dick and Harry who passed on before her.
Throughout her life, she was a fashionista before it was cool to be one. She was always well put together, and her family always loved a chance to shop with her and at Gran’s Boutique! Her love for healthy eating, exercise and a strong will to live, contributed to her longevity, surviving an impressive 94 years. She was one of the last ones standing in her generation of close friends and family.
Mum will be deeply missed for her bold and vibrant personality, her generosity and openness to always house loved ones and friends, her intelligent wit and banter and her strong love for her family and pets. We look forward to reminiscing on all the wonderful memories we have of her.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate to your local Food Bank, animal shelter or rescue or the charity of your choice.
Condolences may be offered to the family below

Pauline Prince I would like to add to Gloria MacLeod’s wonderfully written condolence. I too am a piece of the St.Joseph school of Nursing puzzle Class of 53 and would like to add, Sharon was an amazing class mate. She was a hostess extraordinaire. We chose to have reunions every five years and became a family of friends. Sheran was a marvellous hostess and would be the first one to offer her home and delight us with delicious lunches and dinners. The pieces of puzzle still here Thank you.

Gloria MacLeod In 1950 forty five young women came drifting into Victoria as students at St Josephs School of Nursing. Many were from small towns around the province. Sharon was from Trail. Soon we became bonded like a giant gig saw puzzle, all together. Through the years we have lived together, worked together played together and met for the many reunions. We have followed each path through life learning of the highs and lows of each our 45 nursing sisters. We are privileged so to do. Through the years a piece of this jigsaw would be lost. In the last few years as those of us remaining are in our 90ties the pieces are becoming ragged with use. Each year more and more are lost. Sharons piece is gone now taking with it the beautiful person she was and leaving the rest of us with memories of her. There are eleven pieces left now. Will we reassemble ;someday, some where ?

Leslie Campbell Dearest Auntie Sharon,
May you be at peace now, surrounded by your animals: “Choy, Choy” ( your childhood turkey), Flicka and Ogie(sp?), Tom, Dick and Harry, and many more family pets.
The deer, birds, squirrels that frequented your window of your beloved family home and brought you such comfort and joy, along with all of us, will miss and love you forever.
Love, Essence

Fiona Clark I am so sorry for your loss. I met your mother on a couple of occasions, & thoroughly enjoyed her company. A Mother’s love is eternal. Hold onto that, and let it continue to be your guiding light, for your mother’s love will always shine brightly in your heart, and the hearts of those she touched. Sending sympathies and much love to you all. XX

Gregory Locke Sending you my deepest condolences for your families loss. I know the impact is especially hard on the immediate family Lauren, Mitch and the girls. Your Mom was always such a lovely lady, warm and kind whenever I visited. A enthusiastic conversation was sparked every time a furry friend walked by.. your Mom was very stoic and strong and full of spirit. A life well lived and will be missed by many.

Leslie Ann (Snow) Hebb My deep sympathy to Lauren and Natasha and their families.
Some memories of Sharon – Gorgeous and Intelligent with Fabulous Fashion sense! The first professional woman (outside of my school teachers) that I knew – maybe she was an inspiration in my choosing a profession of my own. Strong and Resilient she was a woman to be admired. Most of all I thank her for blessing me with a treasured life-long friend in Lauren. Rest In Peace, Sharon.

Matthew Yard I’ll always remember Auntie Sharon’s smile, which spread across her face from the corners of her eyes. I will remember her stern generosity, feeding me and insisting that I take food home when I was a student. She cared for everyone around her with mammoth force and taught us what it means to be a warrior for our families. Love to Auntie Sharon.

Gale Woolcock A job well done, Sharon! We will miss you. xoxoxo Gale Woolcock

I only had the chance to meet Auntie Sharon a few times, but through those moments and the many stories Kyle shared about her with warmth and admiration, it was easy to see the strong and generous woman she was. She clearly had a protective spirit and a big heart for the people around her. Auntie Sharon carried a wonderful energy and was proud of the home she built, and rightfully so. I feel lucky to have had the chance to meet her and grateful that she welcomed me there. She will be remembered warmly.
