September 6, 1914 – April 28, 2013
Our Good Lord granted Mom her wish to join her husband, Michael (1994) and her son, Richard (2010). Stella was born in Alan, Saskatchewan on September 6, 1914 and died on April 28, 2013 at Central Care Home. Stella is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Leo) Rieberger; daughter-in-law, Pauline Scherr; grandchildren, Ron (Bonnie) Rieberger, Kevin (Carolyn) Rieberger, Darren (Pauline) Rieberger and Tim Rieberger, Michael (Christine) Scherr, Deborah (lan) Klitsie, Katherine (Tony) Gill as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nik, Amanda, Bryant, Ryan, Claire, Megan, Brooke, Jeff and Alexa. She had many nieces and nephews here and in Saskatchewan.
Mom’s faith and family were always her #l priority. She was an active member of her church, St. Ann’s Academy and St. Louis College Mother’s Clubs, also a member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years. She was a terrific seamstress, cook and baker. Her pastry and pies were in high demand when she worked at the Brite Spot Drive-in Restaurant during the 50’s to 70’s. Mom will be deeply missed but we her family have been blessed with awesome memories. The family would like to express our deep appreciation to the loving compassionate caregivers, especially the 2nd floor of Central Care Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Father Bill MacDonald, O.M.I., at 12:10 pm on Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2060 Haultain Street. In lieu of flowers, if you wish please make donations to the Victoria Hospice Palliative Care.
