Stephen sadly left this world to seek his peace. Steve had a passion for baseball throughout his life. He enjoyed his time in the Canadian Armed Forces and talked about them with exuberance and pride. He enjoyed his coffee time with his siblings and walks along the beach with us! Steve and dad worked together on the buildings, he was very helpful to dad. He was a volunteer at the Victoria Harbor Cats Baseball Club and was an Umpire at National Little League Park. Steve had a generous big heart. He was very caring and kind and loved to laugh with people! Steve’s smile illuminated any room he walked into.

He is predeceased by his mother Amar K. Gill. He will be deeply missed by his father Sardul S. Gill, sister Amir and brothers Kevin and Robin as well as his many uncles, aunts and cousins. Stephen will also be greatly missed by his Starbuck’s Fort St. Family and many friends.

The family would like to thank Norm and the Counsellors at the RJH who supported Steve throughout his journey.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC with a cremation at Royal Oak Crematorium.  A Reception and Prayers will follow at the Sikh Temple, 1210 Topaz Avenue, Victoria, BC.

I was saddened to learn of Steve’s [we used to call him “Stevie” in school] passing. I met him in elementary school [Quadra Elementary] and we grew up in the same area. He was a gifted athlete and was always laughing. Our mothers were good friends and Steve had a very loving family. May peace be with you, my friend, and until we meet again; I know you will be looking after your Mom. I extend my sympathies to the Gill Family for your loss.
