Stuart was born in Victoria on May 22, 1941, and passed away very peacefully on August 28, 2026. He is survived by his wife Pat (Roberts), his son Bryan (Jody), his daughter Teresa, five grandchildren, and a circle of loved ones, including his reconnected daughter Sherry.
Stuart was very proud of being a James Bay boy. He went on to BCIT and UBC, graduating with an Engineering Degree. Clearly proving his high school teacher wrong about his educational ability. He travelled the world, working at times in his early travels, just enough to keep on travelling. Exploring and enjoying other cultures was his passion, and he managed to cover all seven continents in the process, sharing his love of travel with Pat throughout their marriage.
His engineering work took him to Africa and back to Victoria, where he spent many years with the CRD, and finally as Director of Engineering with the Municipality of Oak Bay.
At Stuart’s request there will be no service or celebration of life.
Remember the happy times you shared with him by having a coffee, or taking a walk, with friends.
Stuart will be deeply missed. Special thanks to Drs. Jennifer Maxwell, Marilynn Malone, Mitchell Drake, and MAiD House Victoria.

Dearest Pat,
From the time our girls were babies our friendship has travelled many roads together. Then into your world came this wonderful, loving, gentlemen named Stuart. Although miles apart we followed your amazing travels, adventures and life you and Stuart shared together. Loved the fact while travelling you took time to visit Shelley in Belgium she was thrilled to meet Stuart. Years later Mike and I finally met Stuart who by then was like an old friend. Stuart’s smile, soft voice, laughter and the look in his eyes when looking at you is something so special. There are no words to express our sadness on Stuart’s passing and the loss you are feeling. May precious memories hold Stuart deep in your heart.

Dear Pat and Family. I am sorry I lost touch with Stuart these past few years. I have many fond memories of working on the house in Fairfield, listening to your stories of your worldly travels, of our many years working together at CRD first as a fellow Technician and then again once you returned as a Professional Engineer and finally when you moved to Oak Bay Municipality. Your gentle manner and professionalism was an inspiration to me. I will miss those occasional coffee breaks with Jim at Timmy’s or the Ross Bay pub.
