Susan passed away on May 23, 2025, at the Victoria General Hospital with family at her side. She is survived by her brother, Robert and his partner, Regan, her best friend and roomie, Tracy, as well as many cousins and friends.
Susan followed her family around the province as a child before returning to Victoria and taking up a life-long career in hospitality.
She worked at various hotels around the city before opening her own restaurant ‘The Goose and Trestle’ on the Gorge. While that was short-lived, she and two partners reopened the restaurant and it became a favourite watering hole for locals and tourists, known for its good food and prime rib nights.
She then moved to management for Pizza Hut and spent over 20 years with the company. She was often named Manager of the Year while delivering everyone’s favourite slice all over the city.
Susan was not a world traveller but enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Disneyland and once to New York with her brother. More than anything, she loved visiting friends up and down the island, enjoying a campfire and swapping stories.
A lifelong animal lover and advocate, she treasured her dog Lexus and had her for 17 years.
Susan was loved and will be greatly missed but asked that there be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA, or better yet – adopt an animal and give them a good home!
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
