Teresa passed quietly into God’s loving arms early in the morning on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. She was compassionate and warm-hearted, with a real love for people, and will be missed by those whose lives she touched with her generous ways.
After growing up in the Highlands district, Teresa spent some time in the Yukon, then came home to be friend and companion to her mother, Mollie. She worked for a while in the restaurant industry, then found a fulfilling career working with people with disabilities.
Teresa was always a devout and committed member of the Catholic Church, active in both St. Andrew’s and St. Patrick’s parishes. In her youth she taught children’s classes and sang in the choir; later she presented adult courses, served on parish council and assisted with various ministries. Always a classical music lover, Teresa belonged over the years to such organizations as the Pacific Opera, the Greater Victoria Music Festival and the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and she was proud to be a member of the Victoria Choral Society for eighteen years.
Predeceased by her parents, Teresa is survived by a circle of close friends, cousins and beloved godchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, (Blanshard & View Streets). Condolences may be offered below.

years as a member of the Victoria Choral Society and
served on the executive with her. I fondly remember our visits (along with other choir members) to the Snug at the Oak Bay
Beach Hotel after Choir practice on
Tuesday evenings. I know she has had her struggles and
now she can rest in peace.

Kathleen Trayner So sorry to hear that Theresa has left us, for several years I was part of the “coffee” makers at St. Patrick’s and always enjoyed talking to her when she called with the schedule! Last saw Theresa at an event at St. Ann’s Academy (where i work) and we had a long talk about her troubles and struggles, she has fought hard. I hope it is alright to say I am glad she has found rest. She had the best of hearts and spirit, and I will light a candle in the chapel in her honour.
I REALLY WAS SADDENED TO HEAR OF TERESA’S PASSING. MY NAME IS JULIE AND I WAS IN HER ALPHA CLASS. IT WAS SUCH A HELPFUL THING AT SUCH A LOW POINT. I LOVED HER OUTGOINGNESS AND SENSE OF HUMOUR. IF YOU WANT TO CALL YOU CAN I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE IF THAT IS POSSIBLE.
