It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Terry was cherished by his wife of 51 years, Heather, and by his children, Brian (Nicole) Rogers, and Tammy (Jeremy) Kerr as well as his grandchildren Danielle (Steven) Laitinen, Kathryn and Amy Rogers; Sarah and Matthew Kerr. Terry’s treasured grandchildren were his pride and joy. Terry will be sadly missed by his brothers, Charles (Joyce) Rogers of Winnipeg, Mb and Richard (Carol) Rogers of Nanton, Alta as well as his sisters in law, Sharon (Gary) Sinclair and Maureen Henderson, both of Victoria, BC.
Terry was born into a military family and was the middle son of the late Harold and Rhoda Rogers of Stewiacke, NS. As an Officer Cadet at Royal Roads Military College, he met, then after Graduation married Heather. Terry’s 35-year military career took the family on many memorable journeys with postings from NS to Florida to Ontario, and saving the best for last — Beautiful BC. His integrity and remarkable abilities were not only a lesson to his family but were also recognized by the military. Career highlights included C.O. of VP407 Sqdn and his appointment as Commander of 19 Wing, Comox. After retirement, Terry joined 3E Training, a position he enjoyed immensely on account of his colleagues. Terry also served 2 terms on the Board of Community Living Victoria in honour of Maureen and her housemates.
Travel, golf, gardening, and walking became Terry’s retirement hobbies, however, his love and devotion to his children and his grandchildren surpassed all else. Family events always became a cause for Celebration and he never turned down an opportunity to attend a grandchild’s piano or dance recital or hockey game — he was an avid fan of all they do. His sense of humour, kindness and happiness serve as reminders for all of us to truly enjoy the time we share with one another. Terry inspired us to travel and took us on so many amazing trips. He taught us to work hard to accomplish our goals. And he taught us that Family always comes first. Terry left us much too early, but our cherished memories and the love we share are with us until we meet again.

Sharon and I wish to pass along our sincerest condolences to Heather, Family, and the many Friends of Terry
I worked with and for Terry many times throughout our careers. Passing is just a stage of life. Life goes on. R.I.P Sir. Peter & Sharon Devana.
Heather, Prudy and I were so saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. It was far too soon. In addition to being a wonderful leader, Terry was an outstanding Staff Officer, and I fondly remember our days in DMA at NDHQ. May he rest in peace.
With heavy hearts, we accept what we cannot change.
Carol and I have Terry & his family in our thoughts and prayers now and always.

My wife and I last Saturday saw four vintage planes fly in formation over Victoria and then turn towards Oak Bay. In our minds it was Terry’s fly past.

Heather and family,
Terry was always someone whose wise counsel and great insight I cherished as one of his young mentees. A thorough professional and a great mess mate, his humour and quick smile were frequently the element that brought some tough work to bear. I am so glad he continued his life long passion at hitting little white balls down verdant pastures.
To Charlie, dear friend I am so sad that your brother is once again a Pathfinder. Though I know his heart lies with the Demons, I’m sure they will forgive his loftier station.

A leader, a mentor, a confidante – a friend. Rest in peace, Terry. Your legacy is well established as a senior RCAF officer, a husband, a father, a grandfather and a friend to many. Cheryl and I will remember the good times, of which there were many.
No words can accurately express our condolences. Uncle Terry was always so kind, gentle, calm and welcoming. He brought our family beautiful memories of acceptance, joy, humour, peace and love. I know Miles adored his Uncle Terry. As for my boys their Great Uncle Terry was always so engaged, entertaining, gentle and safe
for my boys….so joyful and loving to them always ❤️,
As for me, Terry alway made me feel appreciated and accepted for just being me every time I was privileged to be in his presence. I pray for you all to find comfort in each other and for Uncle Terry to be pain free. He holds a special place in the hearts of EVER person who ever had the honour of meeting him. That I know is true.
