Tyler Clayton Wormell

July 29, 1997 - March 7, 2020

July 29, 1997 - March 7, 2020

At 22 years of age, Tyler left this earth with the bravery and quiet dignity he showed throughout his entire life.  He passed away after his battle with cancer surrounded by loving family and many friends.  Tyler was predeceased by his father, Dave Wormell; grandparents, Clayton and Kathleen Wormell and, Pasquale and Rosa DeCicco. Tyler leaves his mother, Anna Wormell (Lloyd); brothers, Dustin and Jason; uncles, Joe and Bob; aunts, Deb and Judy; and many cousins and close extended family.

Tyler’s many great friendships were formed during his years in school and the time he grew up playing soccer and lacrosse with JDF/Westshore.  Tyler enjoyed his job as an installer for Depend-A-Door where he also made new friendships.  His passions were his motorcycle, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends.  Tyler was known and described by everyone as a young man who was deeply genuine, kind, thoughtful and always there to lend a hand.  His strength, perseverance and positive outlook no matter what were characteristics admired by all.

Many thanks to the incredible team at Victoria Hospice for their loving care of Tyler and our family.

The Celebration of Tyler’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2:00pm with Entombment at Royal Oak Mausoleum.  A Reception will follow in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Agency Victoria Branch or Victoria Hospice.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

  5. Tyler, You will truley be missed our friend. Darren took you under his wing at Depend-A-Dor and always came home saying you were like a son to him. You were always wanting to learn, help and you never gave up. He looked up to you and how much you fought your battle until the end. Thanking you for the muffins you would bring in to work just out of the blue to sit at chat with them in the morning. You have a true heart of gold young man. Sorry we did not get that dinner 2 weeks ago but maybe Darren will get a strike for you bowling this weekend. 😉 <3 RIP our friend

  8. Anna i hope you know that my heart truly hurts for you and your family. We expect our children to out live us. Never do we expect to bury our child. Cancer is so horrible. So many people are morning loved ones because of this horrible disease. Prayers for you and your family for strength and healing. Love Connie and David

  9. Anna, my heart breaks for you. I am so sorry for your loss. Tyler fought so hard and your strength and support through his battle is awe-inspiring. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Lean on those around you, they will lift you up and help get you through.

  10. Our deepest, heartfelt condolences to you Anna. Thank you for giving our son Jack the wonderful gift of your son and his loyalty and true friendship. Some of our fondest memories include Ty and “the boys”, Austen and Tanner and we will cherish those moments always. He will live on in their hearts and ours forever. He was not theirs to keep but I know this to be true, they will always be brothers and in our hearts there will always be 4.
    Love always,
