Chitra On seeing Vijaya’s photo when young, brought back a flood of memories. He came to our house in Malleshwaram (Bangalore, India) from Visvesarapuraa on bicycle. We were all in college. I called him Vijayanna (respect for somebody older than yourself). My sister, Lakshmi, called him Vijayanna as well. He had his favorite religious and film songs he liked to listen to, and we liked to listening to music with him. His mother, Sarasu Aunty, and my mother were second cousins. As Vijaya left India, we kept in touch. My sister, Lakshmi, kept in touch with him more often. They used to call each other. Manjula and I would talk on the phone for a long time. Vijaya would tease us wondering what we were talking about. My phone chats with Vijaya were typically brief. Vijaya liked his world travels. He was a good person. May God bless and guide Manjula and Naveena.

Kavya & Ramya Dear Manjula Aunty and Navina,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of your loved one.
Our memories of Vijay Kumar uncle is going back in time when we were kids. Though faint…we definitely remember the marriage day and any small get togethers we had when he visited India. As kids we thought he was an Indian movie hero…resembling, Dev Anand.
Our mom, knew Vijay and Manjula very well and she always said he was curious, liked different cuisines and loved to travel.
May he rest in peace and do know that his love will always be there with you.

Raj Sekha I have known Vijay since 2004, when I took my Physics 12 Class from Spectrum Community School to Camosun College Interurban Campus for the spaghetti bridge contest. He was always very helpful and friendly. Then soon after that we met countless number of times at family parties. We also had the same hobbies such as gardening and hanging out at the Gordon Head Rec centre. Vijay was a very social, honest, funny, kind and giving person. We would like to offer our condolences to Manjula and Navina.

Diana Dear Manjula and Navina,
I was heartbroken to hear about Vijay’s passing. Though I only met him a few times, his warmth and quiet strength left a lasting impression on me. I still remember the night we all watched the fireworks in Vancouver with Daniel—it was such a simple, joyful moment, and Vijay’s presence made it feel even more special.
Please know that my thoughts are with you both during this incredibly difficult time. I hope you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the memories you shared with him.
Vijay was clearly a devoted husband and father, and I know his spirit will live on in both of you. Navina, your father’s pride in you was unmistakable. And Manjula, your strength and grace are evident even now. With deepest sympathy,
Diana

Daniel Dear Manjula and Navina,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Vijay. Words feel so inadequate in moments like these, but I wanted to reach out and let you know that my thoughts are with you both during this incredibly difficult time.
Vijay was a remarkable person—kind, thoughtful, and full of quiet strength. He always shared with me his inner thoughts and feelings. We always joked around and had fun. Whether it was travelling or the weekly lunches and Costco runs in langford. His presence touched many lives, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. I hope you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the memories you shared.
Manjula, your devotion and partnership with Vijay were evident to all who knew you. And Navina, your father’s love for you was boundless—his pride in you shone through in every word he spoke. May you both carry his spirit forward in your hearts and find solace in knowing how deeply he was loved and respected.
Please know that I am here for you. Whether you need someone to talk to, help with daily tasks, or simply a quiet presence, I’m just a call away.
With heartfelt sympathy,Daniel

Vijay was my friend from the pool. I am so saddened to hear about his passing. The last time I saw him he told me he missed me and we hugged, not knowing it would be our last swim together. I know everyone at the pool is missing him too.
Sending lots of love and good medicine to his family and friends.
